Paint The Earth

We have seen this band a number of times playing at Sky Music Lounge, and the time has come to shout our accolades for them. Their cover songs range from current radio hits to popular 80’s dance music and even if you don’t like to get out onto the dance floor, they will have you singing along and your feet tapping the beat. Aside from their great renditions of popular songs, the fact that they mingle with the audience between sets, instead of lounging in the green room, says a lot for the band; they appreciate everyone coming out to see them.

The Other Boleyn Girl

Ok, a male, especially myself, cannot deny the sheer beauty and presence of Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson on film…….they are simply to die for…….so now having them both in the same movie, and having them both pretty much sleep around to gain the crown of england…….um, yeah can certainly sign me up for this one.  Its the males turn dammit…..all of you women get your chic flicks with a bunch of guys fighting over the love of a woman…..that doesnt happen in real life (sorry to my female readers)…..but this story did, and by god im going to pay 8 dollars to see it unfold.

Vantage Point

I felt like i have seen this before. A conspiracy behind some elected official who gets shot in public. So why would i go and see another one of these films? Two reasons…..first you cannot deny the actors that are in this movie…..Mathew Fox, Sigorney Weaver, Forrest Wittaker, Dennis Quaid, William Hurt…….and they are all great actors in my opinion……and second, they have never used the president as the one who is being shot in a movie……its always some senator or some congressmen…….so maybe this change, should turn around something different.

Now the first thing that i must talk about is the editing…..which is awesome. It is not super different…..i have seen it before…..but it was just done in a different manner. Once you see the standpoint of one person viewing the president being shot…..they rewind it back to the beginning, and start over with someone else’s view of the situation. Yeah, its nothing spectacular, and it is somewhat different…..but the reason that it is a cool different is that the story is like a puzzle, and by rewinding the story and starting it over again, you get more pieces to that puzzle…….so not only was the cinematography and storytelling cool…..the editing made it even more enjoyable to watch. Be Kind Rewind

Michel Gondry has already directed one of my favorite movies of all time, “Eternal Sunshine”…..and now he comes along with an idea that really relates to the whole film idea in this generation, with all the youtube and cheaply made videos that millions of people have posted on the internet. I must admit, i have made a few myself……and through the eyes of Michel Gondry…..this already sounds like it will be something great. Continue Reading »

Jumper

Two of my favorite series of all time when it comes to movies…..is Batman, and Star Wars. Now why would i be telling you this? Well first because this movie was written by David S Goyer…..the man who wrote Batman Begins and Blade. And second, because you got Anakin Skywalker as the leading role. Truthfully, after looking at the preview, it didnt look that appealing to me….but David Goyer can suprise me.

Now the story is alright….some parts are pretty cool. They take a great approach to the whole teleporting idea…..you know, a kid on the run….nowhere to go, so he steals from a bank…..something that some of us might do if we had this power……and they did a great job of showing the whole teleporting deal on the screen. Especially the fight sequences……oh man, they were very entertaining to watch.
